Edvard Grieg Society of America

The Edvard Grieg Society of America, Inc. (EGSOA) promotes the study and performance of the music of Grieg throughout the United States, and includes activities that focus particularly on his lesser-known works.  The society is an outgrowth of the Grieg Festival 2015, in Sarasota, Florida, January 9-11, 2015, that brought together over 25 Grieg scholars and performers who gave lectures, concerts, or competed in a national competition.  The EGSOA arranges concerts by professional musicians, sponsors juried competitions for young artists, and symposia and workshops focusing on the life and music of Grieg. It recognizes and assists interested individuals and organizations supportive of the mission of EGSOA. The Edvard Grieg Society of America, Inc. was officially formed on April 2, 2015.
